Heavy Metal Pistol Practice is a new event at SCSC and is hosted on the second Saturday of every other month March through September (March, May, July, and Sept) . Please see the club calendar for specific dates."

Sign up is at 8:00 AM with safety briefing at 8:30 AM. You must attend briefing in order to participate. Event runs from 9:00 AM to Noon. Cost is $10.00 for members and $15.00 for sponsored guests. All proceeds are used to support our Youth Shooting programs.

For those not familiar with the event it is a pistol practice session using metal targets. One shooter at a time engages 12 to 15 steel targets in one of three lanes from 30 feet. Shooters can choose to use one lane 3 times or opt for more action by starting in lane one and move through all 3 lanes. A great opportunity to sharpen your pistol skills in a safe and controlled environment.

You can expect to run the course 3-4 times so bring plenty of ammo.

Equipment needed:

Pistol – Center fire or rimfire pistol - 9mm, .40, .45 are most common calibers

     2 or more magazines.

Drawing from a holster is allowed and is helpful but not mandatory.
