May 7th. 2017, a perfect day for a perfect Ladies Only Pistol Fun Shoot!

The 2nd Ladies shoot that St. Charles Sportsmen’s Club has hosted for our members, guests, and for the first time members of the general public.  A total of 52, yes 52 ladies showed up to show the guys that shooting is no longer a “man’s sport”

The Ladies attended a safety, marksmanship, and procedure class at the clubhouse while they drank coffee and ate donuts.  At 9AM the ladies hit the rifle and pistol ranges, beginners and experienced with great instruction from our Range Safety Officers, (RSOs).  The Ladies shot everything from a .22 caliber to a .45ACP, including some revolvers.  Paper targets and a lot of steel targets took a real beating from all the lead flying down range.

Lunch was served, and it was clear that the ladies were reluctant to leave the gun smoke in the air that they had created.  After a great lunch, it didn’t take long before they were back at it again.  I could go on and on about this great event and the great woman that attended, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and these pictures tell the story of The Ladies Only Pistol Fun Shoot better than I ever could.

Thanks to Dave Gay, Karen Gay, Lynette Bergeron, John Potter, Tammy Potter, Jeff Johansen, Jim Pellegrino, all the RSOs, and all the Club Officers and Board of Directors.
