Pistol Challenge

The SCSC Pistol Challenge is a fun but competitive event for pistols shooters, both center fire and rim fire. The Pistol Challenge event is held periodically on the second Saturday of the month between April and October (please see club calendar for specific dates).

The format of the event is a triple elimination drag race with center fires engaging 5 hanging clays at 21 feet or 6 steel plates at 35 feet.  Two shooters square off head to head and on the start command they race to see who can be the first to break all 5 clays.  The winner moves on and the loser moves to a back draw to shoot again.  You are guaranteed to shoot at least 3 times.

The second class of the day is for rim fire pistols. The format of the event is a triple elimination drag race with rim fires engaging 6 steel 4 inch plates on a plate rack at 30 feet.  Two shooters square off head to head and on the start command they race to see who can be the first to knock over all 6 plates.  The winner moves on and the loser moves to a back draw to shoot again.  You are guaranteed to shoot at least 3 times.
